National Fire Industry Association of NSW
In the absence of a dedicated
web site for the NSW section of the National Fire Industry Association of
NSW, dedicated NFIA pages have been opened in AMCA-NSW's web site, both in
the public and non-public areas.
Financial members of NFIA are
welcome, and in fact encouraged, to take advantage of the services available
to AMCA-NSW members at no additional charge. These services include
participation in the extensive training and seminar program conducted by our
Learning and Development Manager, Ms Lucie Booker. Go to the
AMCA Short-Courses page
for details.
In this web site, matters
referring to the fire industry only will appear in bright red, i.e. this
shade. Matters referring to both
air conditioning and fire
industries will continue to
appear in the customary
blue shade.
To go to publicly-accessible
NFIA page, click here.
The current NFIA-NSW Enterprise
Bargaining Agreement and latest wage rates have been published in the
Members-Only section of this web site.
To see the EBA and wage rates,
click on the
Members'
(above the picture of the
lock on the left-hand side of the page) and, when prompted, enter the user
name and password. This will take you into the area reserved for financial
members of AMCA-NSW and NFIA-NSW. The area contains much information not
publicly available and not available to other than industry members.

Members' Briefings:
Silverwater Business Club (Waterview)
The most
recent Members' Briefing
was held at
Silverwater Business Club (Waterview) on Thursday 21
February last.
The main
subject was the application of a new Section J,
Environmental Standards, to the Australian Building
Code. An excellent presentation on the implications of
the new section was given by Messrs Shane Durkin of
Hastie Australia, Younis Tehfe of Triple-M Mechanical al
Services Pty Ltd and Flavian Vallance of Optimus Pty
Ltd. AMCA-NSW extends its sincere thanks to them for
their highly professional work.
Because of the
subject, the briefing was the best-attended in recent
history and spirited discussion followed the Section J
presentation. AMCA Australia will be asked to develop a
recommended code of practice to implement the new
section and it will be made available to all members.
The
next briefing will be held from 8.30am to about 10.00am
on Thursday 22 May 2008 for Members, Associate Members and Affiliate
Members. There is no charge for admission.
Date of posting: 4
March 2008.
